This is the last edition of our free download compilation series. After 3 years, 310 tracks and 27,000 downloads it felt like the right time to end things. The process of receiving and curating submissions has been at times a mammoth task, but always enjoyable. Introducing us to a range of new artists, some of who went on to release individual works with us, SEQUENCE has been integral to the development of Futuresequence into a label. 

A huge thank you to all the artists who have submitted tracks for each of the albums - those whose appeared and those who didn't. Thanks once again to friends Pascal Savy, Ed Hamilton and Karl McGrath who gave their time and ears to listen to all 200 or so submissions and help curate the final tracklist you see here.

Description: Dear friends! As some of you might have heard, there's a sort of a revolution currently going on here in Ukraine. Movement that began with the peaceful students’ protests who were supporting Eurointegration in Ukraine (and were brutally dispersed on 30th of November 2013) turned into the national resistance called the Euromaidan. Since that time in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities people are going out to the streets willing to change the situation in Ukraine, moving towards the Eurointegration, fighting corruption, getting rid of arbitrariness of the authorities and dysfunctional judicial system, trying to stop limiting the liberty of speech. However, the authorities responded to the citizens on 16th of January with new laws according which everyone who has taken part in the protests goes in prison. So new 2014 started with new blood and violence. Our country is on the verge of a civil war.

This compilation by Ukrainian label and promo agency AZH, featuring tracks by Blueneck, Her Name is Calla, Arms and Sleepers, Lights Dim, Sleeping Bear, Endless Melancholy and lots of other great artists is an action of solidarity with those, who are fighting for the justice and right to live in the civilized country. This is another way of fighting, indirect, using music as mediator to reach people all around the world, who are still not realizing importance of everything that is happening in Ukraine. Thousands of people need a support, we need a voice.

The money earned on this compilation will be sent to the organizations, which are helping victims of the protests and independent medias who keep doing their job despite intimidation.

Description: It's Not Boring. It's Ambient is a double CD compilation of Ukrainian and Polish ambient artists released as a collaboration between Preserved Sound in Kraków (www.preservedsound.com) and AZH Promo in Kyiv (www.azh.com.ua/promo). The idea for the compilation came in autumn 2011 when the guys at Preserved Sound talked about doing a compilation of Polish ambient artists. After contacting friends at AZH Promo in Kyiv it became clear that they had also been having the same ideas about releasing a compilation of Ukrainian ambient artists. Thus It's Not Boring. It's Ambient was born.

Bringing together some of the best ambient music from around the region, It's Not Boring. It's Ambient aims to cross borders to present an ecletic mix of the genre that has become known as 'ambient'. Artists on the compilation include sound composer Heinali and electronic artist Nikolaienko from Ukraine, as well as improvised music artist Emiter and experimental musician Pleq from Poland, amongst many more.

It's Not Boring. It's Ambient was released at Les Kurbas theatre, Kyiv on 10 February 2012 at an event which Lights Dim, Heinali and Visionary Hours also played. Our aim is to show that music can cross borders where politics fails, and bring together some of these artists from Ukraine and Poland for concerts.

Description: hooray, it's finally out. The first, and definitely not the last compilation of chosen tracks from Hidden Vibes. It was a very long road from the birth of an idea to create this compilation till the day it all got finalized.

Hidden Vibes Vol.1 is a pretty good introduction to this blog, perfect thing to start with, if you want to get into the Hidden Vibes stuff. It contains chosen tracks from chosen artists, some of them could have already been heard, some of them are quite exclusive, and I'm honored to say that for Gamardah Fungus, Creation VI and Non Dolet tracks this is the first appearance to people.

I want to say special thank you to all of artists, who agreed to participate, it's quite pleasant that number of interested was way bigger, than number of tracks needed for the tracklist. Thank you all. For all those, whose tracks did not appear here - I'm keeping all of them for the Vol. 2, which will follow Vol. 1 very, very soon.

Description: IN_OUT is a brand new compilation from Deadhouse Netlabel, including artists, who make ambient, drone and experimental noise. Recorded during the summer of 2011, it contains material of musicians from Russia and neighbouring countries.

From the very beginning, IN affects you with a special misterious atmosphere of its opening track. It is followed by two guitar based passages, Tears of Void, sounding closer to the classic drone doom compositions, and Kiev Underground, a track of Gamardah Fungus who have already been posted on Hidden Vibes before, offering you a wide flow of sound, very haunting. After becoming completely hypnotized, you are being thrown into the abyss of NulluS dark heavy sound, way more raw than previous tracks, but still impressive. Finally, after listening the closer of the first part of a compilation the conclusion can be made - especially good for lovers of drone and doom music with the involvement of live instruments.

Depressed, the opening track for the OUT part is represented by the same artist who started the IN part, Byōki no nō, yet the sound is completely different and prepares you to hearing the experimental part of the tracklist. A very wide range of sound, seems like artists have made a deal not to repeat each other in their avant-garde experiments. Pretty much outstanding are Abyss and Flame, structured composition with tons of atmospheres, and Sleeping Ethernia, a noisy and scizophrenic outroduction of this exciting trip. The conclusion of OUT is - good for lovers of sonic experentalism, and unusual ways of creating music.
