Description: IN_OUT is a brand new compilation from Deadhouse Netlabel, including artists, who make ambient, drone and experimental noise. Recorded during the summer of 2011, it contains material of musicians from Russia and neighbouring countries.

From the very beginning, IN affects you with a special misterious atmosphere of its opening track. It is followed by two guitar based passages, Tears of Void, sounding closer to the classic drone doom compositions, and Kiev Underground, a track of Gamardah Fungus who have already been posted on Hidden Vibes before, offering you a wide flow of sound, very haunting. After becoming completely hypnotized, you are being thrown into the abyss of NulluS dark heavy sound, way more raw than previous tracks, but still impressive. Finally, after listening the closer of the first part of a compilation the conclusion can be made - especially good for lovers of drone and doom music with the involvement of live instruments.

Depressed, the opening track for the OUT part is represented by the same artist who started the IN part, Byōki no nō, yet the sound is completely different and prepares you to hearing the experimental part of the tracklist. A very wide range of sound, seems like artists have made a deal not to repeat each other in their avant-garde experiments. Pretty much outstanding are Abyss and Flame, structured composition with tons of atmospheres, and Sleeping Ethernia, a noisy and scizophrenic outroduction of this exciting trip. The conclusion of OUT is - good for lovers of sonic experentalism, and unusual ways of creating music. 

The general verdict for the compilation is its total worthiness of being downloaded to widen your musical horizons. Enjoy using following links:

Description: while Led Zeppelin were announcing their new label, while 200,000 music fans were attending The California Jam rock festival, while Queen were playing their first North American concert, while AC/DC were performing their first official show with Bon Scott as their new lead singer, back in 1974 Doug Sharp was commiting his crimes against music. A small story by himself will say more than any other words:

In 1974 while I attended St. Olaf’s Paracollege, my best friend Larry Heyl ran the Moog Studio. He taught me how to plug patch cords and fiddle knobs to wring squawks out of the Moog Modular Synthesizer. I was earning a hand-rolled degree in Creative Studies so I added torturing the Moog to my curriculum.

To me the Moog was a machine for making weird noises so I pushed it into uncharted territories of sonic strangeness. I didn’t emulate any musician but indulged in pure sonic experimentation. I taped a handful of tracks and called my album “Babie’s[sic] First Words” Twenty years later my daughter renamed it “Boogafoo Music”, which stuck.

So basically this album is a collection of moog tunes, noises or whatever-you-call-it tracks, recorded and carried through years on tape and digitalized after. Description: probably the most experimental album that have been posted on this blog so far. Under these symbols are four experimental noisy sounds that attract you with their dark atmosphere. A completely new thing to try, if you've been listening to instrumentally based and musically oriented artists. 音一 (a sound) hails originally from Shinjō, Yamagata but is now a permanent resident of the Sendagaya area of Shibuya, Tokyo. Feedback, clicks, glitches, ghostly voices, drones, textures and found sounds are all things which go towards the creation of an 音一 composition, dark and moody vibes with an isolationist bent is what’s going on here. 音一 employs a host of portable looping and sound manipulating instruments in the recording process, often constructing tracks in situ for use in larger compostions back in the studio and even on occasion building fully realised pieces whilst out in the field (c). Totally worthy to listen, if you are already a fan of experimental sounds or just trying to broaden your understanding of what music is.
