Description: Myosotis is an ambient duo from the Netherlands. Amandus and Evert have been making music together for around 3-4 years now, at first solely guitars and piano. As of last year they have started producing ambient music together because of a mutual interest for ambient, which they entitled the Myosotis project. First intentions of a duo were to create "two sides of the same coin", which would include Light as well as Dark ambiences, and to combine the two.

Intersection is a debut release of Myosotis containing eight carefully selected tracks and being a kind of summary of years, that musicians spent working and experimenting in search of their own sound.

Description: Creation VI is an ambient/drone project for Ukrainian sound artist Tim Six, started in 2006. The main aim of the project is to discover the properties of music as a tool for expressing nonverbal concepts. The first such notions arise in philosophy, mysticism and of course, in all kind of creativity. Power of ambience is practically inexhaustible, so every aspect in which there is a need of musical thinking, finds its particular expression. so the music of Creation VI may vary from dark and ritual ambiences to weightless, transparent drones.

Modern science still does not know for sure what came first — music or human speech. Either first words were born out of imitations of sounds of nature, or out of gestures; what part played primitive religious faiths and cults in it. Only one thing is clear — at the very beginning rhythm, sound and word formed a whole. In this album there are rituals from humanity’s archaic past, fears and insights of primitive people, a feeling of indivisible unity with earth and sky, wind and stone. Touch on the genetic memory, a way through the darkness of millennia to the primary source of everything we create now. 

For the album’s recording we used a voice and a breath, stones and palms, everything that can be tapped and everything that can make noise. Withered leaves, acacia seedpods with seeds, branches, insects swarming and creeping and birds singing. And of course we used singing bowls and the jaw harp (c).

Description: David Teboul goes by the moniker Linear Bells. He is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and sound artist based in Nantes, France. His music is a mix between, vintage instruments, sound manipulations and field recordings, all primarily created with acoustic and analogic instruments. Teboul starting to produce sounds in the mid 90′s under the moniker of Embark. He created one of the first french net-labels named Acrylik, which was involved in electronica production and both digital and vinyl distribution. 

LE CAVALIER BLEU is inspired by Kandinski painting organization “Der Blaue Reiter”.
As the Der Blaue Reiter Almanac essays and theorizing with composer Arnold Schoenberg indicate, Kandinsky also expressed the communion between artist and viewer as being available to both the senses and the mind . Hearing tones and chords as he painted, Kandinsky theorized that (for example), yellow is the colour of middle C on a brassy trumpet; black is the colour of closure, and the end of things; and that combinations of colours produce vibrational frequencies, akin to chords played on a piano. Kandinsky also developed a theory of geometric figures and their relationships—claiming, for example, that the circle is the most peaceful shape and represents the human soul.

This release is a blurry vision of a tale where you could meet this dark rider overlapping his blue horse, enjoying great mountain landscapes and mysterious forests, colors and darkness.

This was achieve using, guitars, keyboards, bells, field recordings, bass.
It was recorded and mastered between april and august 2012.

Description: not quite usual piano instrumental. A collaboration of Martin Lukanov (who is both a clasically trained pianist and a sound artist working in the fields of electroacoustic music and noise) and Mytrip (you gotta know this outfit for the split album with EUS, previously posted) seem not to aim for becoming another project, composing instrumental tunes in vein of the whole bunch of modern classical composers. "Two" is a kind of album, where you have to listen between notes, if you want to find the real beauty. Minimal and subtle piano, played by Martin Lukanov on the album, is very calming and gives a very different perception of this instrument. I'd go for the term "ambient piano" here, cause in this case piano really works for creating the ambience, but not the actual tune going throughout the whole composition. It works well with all the textures and droning layers added by Mytrip, and sometimes just brings the sonic pleasure from listening this to the highest point. The leading motif in the release is the dual nature of the process of collaboration, it reaches every part of the process, from the length of the pieces, through the total duration of the work, from the construction and location of the artists in the tracks, to the visual representation of the album.

Description: So I'an Islander is a solo-project of Søren Nissen Jørgensen from Denmark. Founded back in May of 2011, the project has been quite productive, yet very underrated. The discography of So I'm An Islander consists of several digital EPs and albums, and The Old Theatre and Its Forgotten Songs has been the most listened among them (according to the last.fm website). The tracklist of an album may vary, if you see it on the different websites, but it doesn't change the fact, that you meet very calm and peaceful pieces of instrumental piano music with occasional involvement of strings and other instruments here. The atmosphere in So I’m An Islander’s music can be defined as old, mysterious and warm and definitely very evocative. Highly recommended. Description: been missing some neofolk on the blog? Today I present you a beautiful one-man project from Italy, Ishtar. Playing keyboards in Adveniat Hiems and LustNotes, Ishtar has been part of the Italian musical scene for more than a decade. This project presents instrumental tracks laying somewhere between the neofolk and neoclassical genres. Music themes are focused on memories, myths and visions, enriched with a touch of melancholy and a strongly personal interpretation. Although the style has its roots in Northern Europe and is heavily influenced by the sounds of bands such as Ulver (in Kveldssanger) and Empyrium, the Italian nature of the project dominates the style, making it unique, unusual and deeply rooted.
