Description: Der Wanderer is an album by a nature-oriented ambient project Mealann from Poland. A long journey through the forest of gloomy and misty atmospheres. Basically some kind of minimalistic ambient music, but each of the tracks sound very inspiring and mystic at the same time. A good piece of ambient with the great concept is the least to say, this record really creates a very special mood and a soundscape of wandering through the woods and misty fields.

Vocalist Kim House’s melodic drive on her Rickenbacker bass propels every song from start to inevitable powerful conclusion while Geoff Cox and Greg Forschler create walls and sinews of guitars that would make Robin Guthrie proud. Garrett Croxon anchors it all and pushes forward with an intricate post-punk jazz swing. Kim’s ethereal vocals float over the dreamy, lush soundscape (c).

Description: a six piece band from Denmark using reach variety of additional instruments to create their smooth sound. In their tracks one can hear the sound of harmonica, organ, violin and the influence of such bands, as The Velvet Underground, 13th Floor Elevators, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Black Angels, Spiritualized, Spacemen 3 and lots of others. There's not a lot of releases in bands discography, as Peyote is being their only EP by this moment, but it is very promising. Taking the very best from their influences, they do not bring too much innovations to the established order of things in the genre, yet give us a fresh glance on it. Well-done psychedelic rock with mindblowing solos and a touch of shoegaze as a pleasant bonus. Really worthy to give it a listen. A sample video below:

Description: the latest work of Non Dolet, an artist with a young girl Alice behind it. She lives in Russia and studies at the music conservatory, specializing in sound directing. She is also interested in psychoacoustics, plays ethnodrums (c). "Inner" reflects a wide spectrum of emotions, as melancholic tracks are changed by somewhere dramatic pieces, e.g. War Field, but mainly the record embraces listener with calmness. Stylistically it varies from some kind of dream ambient to intelligent electronics with a slight trip-hop touch. At the same time due to the use of piano and different instruments' sounds, and having an established song structures, Non Dolet differs from rather soundscapic ambient artists, that were published on the blog before.

Description: As long as shameless self-promotion is still considered to be extremely lame, I won't make an effort of reviewing this one. I'll just re-post a wonderful review of Recent Music Heroes on this self-released stuff.
This is a split album compiled of tracks by 3 talented artists. fydhws is a musician from Macedonia who used to develop one of the most intricate post-rock soundscapes worldwide at the moment. This might be described as an instance of instrumental rock music made up through the methodology based on sound art/sound modulation. On the other side, bc_ ranger (from Ukraine) and Gravity End`s (from Germany) play up more established yet excellent riff based epic rock sound borrowing from the realms of metal, musique concrète, and spoken word. However, all of those rich textures and majestic vibes are fulfilled with lots of good memories and endless melancholy. Beautiful. (original post here)

Slow, sometimes minimalistic yet emotionally fulfulled compositions create the appropriate atmosphere of hopeful melancholy, and ocassional use of percussion brings some post-rock intonations to the generally ambient soundscape. Description: Golden Gardens is the duo located in the city of Utopia and producing dreamscapes and anthems for magical minds. At least this is what their official Facebook page say. In fact this is a music duo that recently released their first longplay just in vein of their first Somnambulist EP. According to the words of musicians themselves, their music takes influences from music boxes and icicles; raindrops against a window pane; books being opened and closed at the library; submerging oneself in the bathtub; dry leaves being crushed underfoot; grey skies; summery fields; crashing waves and puddles in the forest. And the whole bunch of various artists, such as Slowdive, Cranes, Akira Yamaoka, Bohren And Der Club of Gore, Massive Attack, Portishead, Bauhaus, My Bloody Valentine and a lot of others.
Between the Siren and the Amulet is an album of perfectly produced warm shoegaze music. Starting with a droning ambient introduction, this album presents dreamy guitar based music and even more dreamy and gentle female vocals, that fill you with the atmosphere of complete calmness. Delayed and hazy guitars make songs sound totally soundscapic, ambient. And admitting the crystal beauty of singer's vocals again. A perfect piece of music for dreamers.
