Description: the latest work of Non Dolet, an artist with a young girl Alice behind it. She lives in Russia and studies at the music conservatory, specializing in sound directing. She is also interested in psychoacoustics, plays ethnodrums (c). "Inner" reflects a wide spectrum of emotions, as melancholic tracks are changed by somewhere dramatic pieces, e.g. War Field, but mainly the record embraces listener with calmness. Stylistically it varies from some kind of dream ambient to intelligent electronics with a slight trip-hop touch. At the same time due to the use of piano and different instruments' sounds, and having an established song structures, Non Dolet differs from rather soundscapic ambient artists, that were published on the blog before.

Description: As long as shameless self-promotion is still considered to be extremely lame, I won't make an effort of reviewing this one. I'll just re-post a wonderful review of Recent Music Heroes on this self-released stuff.

This is a split album compiled of tracks by 3 talented artists. fydhws is a musician from Macedonia who used to develop one of the most intricate post-rock soundscapes worldwide at the moment. This might be described as an instance of instrumental rock music made up through the methodology based on sound art/sound modulation. On the other side, bc_ ranger (from Ukraine) and Gravity End`s (from Germany) play up more established yet excellent riff based epic rock sound borrowing from the realms of metal, musique concrète, and spoken word. However, all of those rich textures and majestic vibes are fulfilled with lots of good memories and endless melancholy. Beautiful. (original post here)

Description: an album of pure light sadness distilled through piano sounds from young Ukrainian composer who uses the moniker The Landwash Of Eternal Tranquility. His musical compositions are expressed with bright emotions, diluted with soft ambient parts, which gives his music a unique style and special sound (c). Slow, sometimes minimalistic yet emotionally fulfulled compositions create the appropriate atmosphere of hopeful melancholy, and ocassional use of percussion brings some post-rock intonations to the generally ambient soundscape. Description: Golden Gardens is the duo located in the city of Utopia and producing dreamscapes and anthems for magical minds. At least this is what their official Facebook page say. In fact this is a music duo that recently released their first longplay just in vein of their first Somnambulist EP. According to the words of musicians themselves, their music takes influences from music boxes and icicles; raindrops against a window pane; books being opened and closed at the library; submerging oneself in the bathtub; dry leaves being crushed underfoot; grey skies; summery fields; crashing waves and puddles in the forest. And the whole bunch of various artists, such as Slowdive, Cranes, Akira Yamaoka, Bohren And Der Club of Gore, Massive Attack, Portishead, Bauhaus, My Bloody Valentine and a lot of others.

Between the Siren and the Amulet is an album of perfectly produced warm shoegaze music. Starting with a droning ambient introduction, this album presents dreamy guitar based music and even more dreamy and gentle female vocals, that fill you with the atmosphere of complete calmness. Delayed and hazy guitars make songs sound totally soundscapic, ambient. And admitting the crystal beauty of singer's vocals again. A perfect piece of music for dreamers.  Description: Invisible Elephant is the solo project of a UK artist who writes the songs, plays all of the instruments and records the work at home combining found sounds, hazy guitars and spectral vocals. Blending elements of post-rock, shoegaze, psychedelic rock, folk-rock and dream pop he creates an immersive sound that defies simple categorisation. Veering from softly spoken psychedelic folk to ethereal soundscapes to monolithic walls of feedback, it's difficult to pin the sound down to one genre. Following on from last year's impressive and extremely well received debut Invisible Elephant returns with 'Anomie or Swimming in a Black Sea' an album of quiet heartbreak, searing dissolution and ultimately redemption. Anomie expands and builds on the dreamlike ambient haziness sound that made The Lights Go Out an otherworldly journey and lets reality filter in. What follows is an exploration of an inner world through sound and emotion in the light of loss.
 

The indefinable nature of Invisible Elephant's music isn't really surprising given the huge influence it takes from the literary works of Haruki Murakami as well as the diverse array of subtle musical influences from Elliott Smith, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai to Sparklehorse. This informs the sound which fuses the downbeat sincerity of freak folk with the visceral force of shoegaze and the cinematic euphoria of post-rock. The end result is music which exhibits subtlety, ferocity, discordance, melody and an acute ear for imbuing the familiar with the futuristic.

Description: an instrumental album from french composer Raphaël D. Hardy is an inspiring trip to the world of touching piano tunes. Gently and carefully produced these melodies create special mood of melancholy and calmness, and the whole album sounds like one long fairytale, which is not actually that long as album's length's only around 16 minutes. A very good and graceful piece of piano music. But the most important notice is that author is not a pianist and creates all his tunes by computer means. Description: Happiness is an album, that appeared from nothing. The aim of it is happiness, even not happiness but its search. Album consists of two parts, Happiness itself (new songs) and That's pretty much the same thing (a compilation of previous works of The Cunt). Album is nervously calm, just on the edge of happiness. The idea of recording it appeared long time ago, but was realized only during the summer of 2010. First attempts of recording were made even in winter during small improvisations with Dmytro Moskalets (poet, musician, culturologist). This was Dmytro who played the piano pieces, which were parts of those improvisations (c).
