Description: It's Not Boring. It's Ambient is a double CD compilation of Ukrainian and Polish ambient artists released as a collaboration between Preserved Sound in Kraków (www.preservedsound.com) and AZH Promo in Kyiv (www.azh.com.ua/promo). The idea for the compilation came in autumn 2011 when the guys at Preserved Sound talked about doing a compilation of Polish ambient artists. After contacting friends at AZH Promo in Kyiv it became clear that they had also been having the same ideas about releasing a compilation of Ukrainian ambient artists. Thus It's Not Boring. It's Ambient was born.

Bringing together some of the best ambient music from around the region, It's Not Boring. It's Ambient aims to cross borders to present an ecletic mix of the genre that has become known as 'ambient'. Artists on the compilation include sound composer Heinali and electronic artist Nikolaienko from Ukraine, as well as improvised music artist Emiter and experimental musician Pleq from Poland, amongst many more.

It's Not Boring. It's Ambient was released at Les Kurbas theatre, Kyiv on 10 February 2012 at an event which Lights Dim, Heinali and Visionary Hours also played. Our aim is to show that music can cross borders where politics fails, and bring together some of these artists from Ukraine and Poland for concerts.

Description: after visiting a show of this artist I couldn't help dropping a few words about his music, because it is very expressive, yet minimalistic, as most of ambient is. So, Lights Dim is a solo project of Marek Kamiński (also New Century Classics). Starlit Corners of Our Homes is an album, that has been recorded and mixed in jan/feb 2010 and contains ambient-based compositions with involvement of piano. Probably nothing new to modern classical genre, but this record is not about inventing new things, it is about expressing authors feelings in a very warm, romantic and melancholic way.

Description: it's been a while, since Vladimir Sterzer - Timeless Piano Dreams album had been posted on Hidden Vibes, so now blog needs more piano music. Piano music for quiet nights and peaceful mornings, that's how Solo Piano, an album by pianist and composer Bart Knol, is described by himself. That's definitely true, as the whole album is calm and peaceful, quite as pure morning is. Bartois music is supposed to remind you of its main influenses, such as Vassilis Tsabropoulos, Dustin' O Halloran, Gonzales, Philip Glass, Yann Tiersen, Tord Gustavsen, Eric Satie, Chopin, Bach, Esbjorn Svensson. So, If you like those, this album surely will be a small gift for you.

 

The goal of the album was creating a record which you can “trust” . Something which can be played on quiet evenings or sunday mornings, knowing that it will be a comfortable ride until the last track has passed. In 2009 he finished that record called “Solo Piano”.

Description: Crane's Dreams project, combining into one such musical genres as ambient, drone and neoclassics was born in 2011. Roman Barinov, the only member of this band have decided to create something different from what he'd been doing in his metal project called Liveride. Thematic concept of Crane's Dreams music is not only a bright side of Russian landscapes beauty, but also its dark, ghostly side.

Project compositions combine the ambient base with different noises, nature sounds and voices. The influence of neoclassical music can be heard in some tracks as well, when droning noisy sounds are diluted with detached strings and atmopheric pads. Album cover is made by author. By now the discography of the project consists of one release, dating back to the beginning of spring, 2011 (translated from Russian).

Very good atmospheres here, highly recommended for download for lovers of airy uplifting soundscapes.
