Crane's Dreams - August Fogs

Crane's Dreams - August Fogs

Genre: Ambient/Minimalism/Atmospheric
Format: mp3 | CBR320kbps
Country: Russia
Size: 80 Mb

Tracklist:
01. Clouds
02. Time
03. Letters In August
04. Disturbing Dream
05. The Distant Sky
06. In Waves
07. Open Spaces
08. Back To The Distant Sky

Description: Crane's Dreams project, combining into one such musical genres as ambient, drone and neoclassics was born in 2011. Roman Barinov, the only member of this band have decided to create something different from what he'd been doing in his metal project called Liveride. Thematic concept of Crane's Dreams music is not only a bright side of Russian landscapes beauty, but also its dark, ghostly side.
Project compositions combine the ambient base with different noises, nature sounds and voices. The influence of neoclassical music can be heard in some tracks as well, when droning noisy sounds are diluted with detached strings and atmopheric pads. Album cover is made by author. By now the discography of the project consists of one release, dating back to the beginning of spring, 2011 (translated from Russian).
Very good atmospheres here, highly recommended for download for lovers of airy uplifting soundscapes.

Blues for spacegirl - Alice Springs

Blues for spacegirl - Alice Springs

Genre: Ambient/Drone
Format: mp3 | CBR192kbps
Country: Belgium
Size: 55 Mb

Tracklist:
01. Alice Springs
02. Phase incoherence
03. Tethys
04. Glacier spins
 05. Holocene

Description:

Some musings by the author:

Inspirations for this album are visions of sped-up geologic activity, prehistoric things lurking in now-gone oceans, and generally the way things tend to gradually change, be it memories or mountains.

ALICE SPRINGS ventures somewhere in the middle between structure and improv. First half starts out as an hommage to Lee Ranaldo’s epic Amarillo Ramp (for Robert Smithson). Initial plan was a similar improvised, all over-the-place guitar freak-out coda, but along the way I figured there’s no point in repeating what’s been done before & better, so now there’s this metalish, somewhat civil end. It works well enough.

TETHYS is my favorite; it evokes the atmosphere of what I imagine is a prehistoric sea long gone. The song’s entirely improvised, instantly shaping itself in my head while I was tweaking the guitars and synth.

HOLOCENE is a pretty cool closer. The main goal for treating the piano with an overdrive+wah was camouflaging my horrible skills. Secondly, I like borderline-noise. Thirdly, it oddly resembles the sound of contemporary plate activity - if you listen closely

Creation VI - Apeiros

Creation VI - Apeiros

Genre: Drone/Ambient
Format: mp3 | CBR320kbps
Country: Ukraine
 Size: 145 Mb

Tracklist:
01. Archetype Storage
02. Actually Infinite Deletion
03. Looped Superstring
04. Nonlocal Correlation

Description:  Apeiros (Greek word means "infinitely incognizable") is a term Plato used for description of primary matter which is out of principle of the form. Unlike the common matter of the perceived Universe, Apeiros has to contain determinacy principle as it should be the beginning for everything else. But also it means that Apeiros must stay indefinite. Thus here is an actualization of the transcendent into immanent.

«Apeiros» by Creation VI is an original picture of Universe where superstrings theory combines with Plato’s doctrine about the matter and Hindu universe conception combines with quantum mechanics.

The World here looks like united decentralized network where each element can express all others. The World as a universal wave function of indefinite number of vibrating superstrings which all are just monad essences cuts, indefinite archetypes that continuously actualize itself and thus create the stream of unboundedness. (c)

Totally worthy to at least give it a listen. You can find Creation VI music and download it for free/listen it for free using links below:

mobdividual - Sounds One Hears Is Music

mobdividual - Sounds One Hears Is Music

Genre: Acoustic/Drone/Post-Rock
Format: mp3 | CBR320kbps
Country: USA
Size: 64 Mb

Tracklist:
01. "Life is the leaves which shape and nourish a plant,
02. but art is the flower which embodies its meaning."
03. - Charles Rennie Mackintosh
04. ...sounds one hears is music...

Description: and the very new EP from Brian Elyo also known as mobdividual is out now. Being pretty much a continuation of 'The Windows to () Music Were Open' it brings lots of fresh moments. Having kept the hypnotizing acoustic ambience, due to the use drums it sounds closer to post-rock music. Starting listening to the record you get a perfect introduction from first two tracks, which fully show the atmosphere of the whole record. The third track - Charles Rennie Mackintosh - is being a great and almost epic culmination of the record, while the last one sounds pretty different from others and paints the ending line of the EP.

…kind of like a roller coaster design where i’ve tried to dictate a certain experience but also allow for the individual to take away their own experience… to do that i have to make sure certain ideas aren’t too low or too narrow or your head wont hit the side… ‘you must be so tall to ride’ type-idea… just trying to make sure you can relax and enjoy the ride; hopefully you’ll be free enough to look around, get distracted (this isn’t school, music isn’t life, you don’t have to pay attention…); think about something else, have your own experience…

音一 - 一

音一 - 一

Genre: Noise/Drone/Experimental/Minimalism
Format: mp3 | CBR192kbps
Country: Japan
Size: 38 Mb

Tracklist:
01. 一
02. 二
03. 三
04. 四

Description: probably the most experimental album that have been posted on this blog so far. Under these symbols are four experimental noisy sounds that attract you with their dark atmosphere. A completely new thing to try, if you've been listening to instrumentally based and musically oriented artists. 音一 (a sound) hails originally from Shinjō, Yamagata but is now a permanent resident of the Sendagaya area of Shibuya, Tokyo. Feedback, clicks, glitches, ghostly voices, drones, textures and found sounds are all things which go towards the creation of an 音一 composition, dark and moody vibes with an isolationist bent is what’s going on here. 音一 employs a host of portable looping and sound manipulating instruments in the recording process, often constructing tracks in situ for use in larger compostions back in the studio and even on occasion building fully realised pieces whilst out in the field (c). Totally worthy to listen, if you are already a fan of experimental sounds or just trying to broaden your understanding of what music is. El Heath - Winter Soundtrack

El Heath - Winter Soundtrack

Genre: Ambient/Drone/Atmospheric/Psychedelic
Format: mp3 | VBR (V0)
Country: United Kingdom
Size: 44 Mb

Tracklist:
01. Concerto
02. Fireflies
03. A Cold Day in Spring
04. Awake all Night
05. Electric Storm
06. When It Gets Dark Outside I Tend To Go And Play Inside
07. Chords
08. Inertia
09. Non-Romantic Melancholic Waltz

Description: this is a EP of a musician-experimentalist from Shropshire, UK. Like a modern day romantic, EL Heath finds beauty all around him - in childhood memories; in the countryside around his Shropshire home; in early morning light and in dreams. It’s this beauty that provides inspiration for his music: he churns out song after song after song, barely finishing one track before he rushes onto the next. The world compels this man to make music (c). Stylistically Winter Soundtrack is pretty much a collection of atmospheric ambient tunes and drones. From the very beginning and until the end this album keeps creating a special mood, causes various reflections and flashbacks in mind. Moments from the past life, weather landscapes, everything you can associate atmospheric sounds with. Totally worthy to at least give it a listen. Bird From The Abyss - II

Bird From The Abyss - II

Genre: Drone Doom/Experimental/Ethnic/Psychedelic
Format: mp3 | CBR128kbps
Country: Finland
Size: 36 Mb

Tracklist:
01. Crawling Monuments
02. Travelling With The Bird - Part 1
03. Kyyn Laulu
04. From The Altars Of Fire To The Kingdom Of Ereskigal
05. Travelling With The Bird - Part 2 - Back To The Abyss

Description: a perfect work of a oneman anti-band, that hails from Finland’s primeval forests,
and combines drone/doom(metal) with acoustic elements; folk and world music to form ritualistic compositions. Atmosphere of this project can be fully described by the next passage:

Bird from the Abyss comes from Finland, a land where nighttime dominates the dayside and where inside deep, dark forests still dwell the ancient creatures of the mythological north. But the music of BFTA is more exotic, more Mediterranean - its aura is one culled from the ancient Egyptian ethos, its ritualistic nature is foreboding and sinister. When one hears the music of BFTA. they will uncover many styles from doom to ambient to folk to progressive- all synthesized and textured in a way which births a new and completely original dark sound. (c)

This album, combining experimental hypnotic sounds and ethnic elements with rich variety of styles, sounds as one long trip through the world of different visions, created in your mind. Still remains undiscovered, and that's why it is totally worthy to be listened. You can find Bird From The Abyss music and download it for free/listen it for free using links below:

Sferi - Sound of the Spheres

Sferi - Sound of the Spheres

Genre: Space Ambient/Drone/Sound Collage/Psychedelic
 Format: mp3 | CBR320kbps
Country: Macedonia
Size: 194 Mb

Tracklist:
01. Merkur
02. Venera
03. Zemja
04. Mars
05. Jupiter
06. Saturn
07. Uran
08. Neptun

Description: Sferi is another musical reincarnation of fydhws from Macedonia, totally conceptual and represents a great piece of space ambient music, where each track is dedicated to another planet of solar system. Having collected different sounds into great sound collages Sferi creates very rich variety of moods and atmospheres. If you want to learn way more about each of the tracks, read the following review. It perfectly describes the essence of what Sferi is.

A musical representation of the eight planets of our solar system: that's an ambitious and daunting project. It isn't pulled off frequently, but when it happens, there's two classic archetypes to measure them against.
There's Gustav Holst, who painted the planets from his imagination and their role in folklore and tradition. Then, there's the NASA Voyager Recordings, a scientific but not less poetic picture of the spheres.

Sferi's Sound of the Spheres, released in three parts, is an amalgam of both, sometimes drawing inspiration from the space radiation itself, sometimes from the more traditional, anthropomorphic representation of the spheres. And plenty of times it's a carefully crafted bit of both.

Merkur is such a mixture. It starts off with a phaser effect that resembles its fast (fast!) revolution. When the electronics kick in, there's strange transmissions bouncing off its iron core. The fast tempo and a disorienting soundscape are very musical impressions, but they sound very much based on Mercury's natural occurrence.

Venera. Earth's evil twin is a gem in the sky, and for ages it shone in tales of beauty and love. Only recently have those stories been overcast by knowledge of the planet's "tragic" faith. The string sound and glockenspiel theme capture that melancholy of Venus' beauty gone warped. One of the highlights of the series.

Zemja, or Earth starts with synths much like Venera, but has a darker timbre and a melody of your typical funeral doom metal drone. Not a planet I want to wake up on. This is a painting of Earth billions of years ago, snowball earth, or the one with thick carbon clouds and stromatolites blobbing around.

Mars is as figurative as Holst's most famous piece, but for different reasons. This is no Bringer of War. Here is a planet painted as a mad circus. These days, Mars' crazy geography does indeed seem a more apt epithet than its 'war-like' red color. This composition is brilliant, but perhaps drags on a bit.

Planet Jupiter, when recorded by both Voyagers, sounds somewhat like a possessed singing bowl. So does this track, only do the noise toppings sound a little more structured than the real thing.

Saturn is guitar strumming topped with noise. Liner notes say the sphere has problems focusing, and at first the jam does feel like it's going nowhere, only to shift into a Sonic Youth's J'accuse Ted Hughes-kind of drone halfway.

Uran bears the most resemblance to the Voyager Recordings, but not quite. Holst's Uranus was a sorcerer, and the finale of this piece, with it's sharp notes, evokes the same danger of forbidden magic, before settling down into a mix of shortwave signals again.

Neptun, the last great gas giant, is not so different. Again, the synth sounds flow slowly like the singing bowls of NASA, but do so in an organized manner throughout the track. A bell sound determines the rhythm along which eery synths are modulated. Image the odd hexagon shape discovered on the planets south pole, and you're in for a scary ride.

Not kidding, but planets are really far away. Like, man. Even with probes and data sheets and telescopes as big as your average Trans-Neptunian Object, they're only faint dots and digitally colored bitmaps. It's only our imagination that brings them closer to home. Have a listen to Sferi's Sounds of the Spheres, and maybe its imagery will make you peek at the still-mysterious grainy deep space. Or Google's hi-res version of it.

Description: Perfectly done ambient sounds from Costa Rica. EUS is a one man project taking beginning in 2008. According to the authors words, EUS’ philosophy is to make each album different from its other ones, but always in an Ambient style, trying and experimenting with different techniques for the recording process. This work is a great sonic adventure into the world of atmospheric ambient and warm drones, and that is pretty much it. Should be good for lovers of atmospheric and hypnotizing sounds. Tracklist:
01. Advocatus Diaboli
02. The Last Step Of The Universe
03. Atlantica
04. Celestial Funerals (feat. Tenzin Sambu)
05. Revolver Theme

Description: third full-length album from experimental music duo from Ukraine released in 2011 actually summarizes their long way in developing their own unique sound. Named after the ancient tibetan ceremony, album perfectly creates dark and mystic atmosphere. The musical content of album is very rich and varies from atmospheric ambient parts to heavy sludgy moments. By the words of musicians this work is being a tribute of admiration of will and traditions of the tibetan people. Also musicians themselves define the style of all tracks as the mix of funeral doom and dark ambient, but despite all stylistic limits everyone can find in this album  something for himself. Totally worthy to at least give a listen. You can find Gamardah Fungus music and download it for free/listen it for free using links below:
